Mouse Polling Rate Test measures effective pointer events received by a browser page. It does not inspect every USB packet or expose hidden firmware data. A desktop utility, a vendor tool, and this page can show different values because they observe different layers.
Results Are Estimates
Use the numbers for repeatable comparisons, not as certified hardware evidence. The result can change with movement speed, screen edges, browser scheduling, CPU load, USB hubs, wireless interference, firmware, receiver placement, and the active device profile.
A stable lower rate can be better than an unstable high rate. Read the lower part of the run and test the setting in the game you care about.
